Providing services to senior residents ages 60 and older in Vernon means keeping up to date with knowledge about a variety of issues. A new client may need emergency food from our Pantry or to apply to our Transit Dept. for Dial-A-Ride service. Other people need counseling and support through a difficult time.
It is more likely, however, that clients will need to access State and Federal programs. The application procedure can be tedious, but the Elder Services staff has information, applications, and experience with guiding people through the process.
If you are interested in more information, an Elderly Outreach Worker will be happy to visit you in your home and explain these programs in detail. There is no charge for this service.
Elder Services is partially funded by a government grant under the Older Americans Act and the North Central Area Agency on Aging. It is also supported by United Way and the Town of Vernon
