Thank you to Jason Cormier and
Dur-A-Flex:Performance Flooring Solutions

of East Hartford for helping Hockanum Valley help . . .

Dur-a-flex recently held a food drive to help our pantry. Because the donation came in April 2nd it will count towards our Feinstein Challenge, which means it is worth double!

The employees of Dur-a-flex will be holding periodic food drives for us and for this we are most greatful.

The "Food of Month" for April is pasta and sauce. If you wish to find out how you can hold a food drive at your place of business call Faith, our Pantry Coordinator. No donation is too small and all donations are greatly appreciated.

David Engelson Accepts Humanitarian Service Award

He was commended for distinguishing himself as an everyday hero by creating miracles through service in his community. Important Change For Riders

The cost of providing transportation has continued to rise along with the prices of gasoline, diesel fuel and a significant increase in insurance. Funding has not matched these rising costs. In order to continue to provide reliable safe transportation to the Tri Town area we will need to implement a $1.00 donation when boarding the van on each trip. Round trip costs $2.00. You must have the exact amount as our drivers will not have change. This donation starts on January 1, 2010.

Donations are always appreciated and needed.

Please call HVCC at 872-7727. Food donations are always accepted and needed throughout the year.

Why I Give...

I give because I am blessed.

To look at my life from another time -
who would have guessed?

Along the way someone gave me a hand
that lifted me to where I am.

To repay a debt of kindness takes a lifetime.

Forgetting to make those payments would be a crime.

I know that any form of payment will do.

A gift of food or clothing, my spare time;

Emptying out my cookie jar of all its nickels and dimes;

Writing an article that painfully rhymes.

~Renee Irvin, Board President

every man is a piece of the continent.”
