Behavioral Health agency is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for a part-time opportunity in our Vernon CT outpatient clinic. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to join our inter-disciplinary team in providing quality behavioral health and addiction treatment to a broad patient population. This position is primarily outpatient medication management visits during normal business hours and does not include any on-call duties. Hours are flexible.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the direction of our Medical Director and clinic Program Director, outpatient APRNs are responsible for performing initial psychiatric assessments, medication evaluations, and ongoing medication management of patients in our outpatient program. This position includes a significant amount of encouraging patients to be pro-active in their own recovery and educating patients about preventative health maintenance, healthy living options, and avoiding polypharmacy. Our APRNs work closely with our other clinicians to provide closely monitored care in a community setting. Similarly, our APRNs communicate frequently with outside healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care. We use an electronic medical record and e-prescribing.

Qualifications and Skills:

CT APRN License

Master’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing; current credentialing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Experience and knowledge of EMR and related skills.

Experience in Mental Health preferred. Addiction and/or public health experience preferred.

Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card. Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Controlled Substance Registration Certificate and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Substance Registration Certificate.

Supervision Received: This position reports to the Medical Director
