He is also a member of the North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) Opioid Grant Advisory group, working to address the Opioid Crisis in our region. He serves as an addiction treatment expert for both organizations.

Steven has worked in intensive inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment settings, providing both individual and group counseling services for adults and adolescents. He specializes in the full spectrum of the recovery journey: initial assessment, diagnosis and early recovery issues and planning, handling the challenges of long term recovery, and living life on life’s terms long after achieving continuous abstinence from substance misuse.

Steven combines therapeutic approaches to ensure that each client receives the proper solutions and tools that best fit that individual’s intrinsic motivation for seeking recovery. These approaches may include: CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Motivational Enhancement, and Harm Reduction.

Steven values working with external peer support options, such as: AA, NA, SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery. He works to create synergy between the therapy space and the efforts clients make on their own to explore recovery. He is passionate about the field of addiction treatment, and believes in the tremendous potential for change and growth in all who seek recovery.
