What are Basic needs?

Access to services that are critical to human health and safety such as food, clothing and shelter. HVCC also defines basic needs as those services which are necessary for health and wellbeing that have economic barriers imposed, such as transportation and healthcare.

  • Town of Vernon and COVID-19

    Since the start of the Pandemic HVCC has worked closely with the town of Vernon to assist those who suffered and continue to suffer due to COVID-19. At the height of the vaccination period, HVCC offered its site as a vaccine clinic. In 2022, HVCC began a community social work program with the town to address mental health and basic needs issues.

  • Growing our community

    In 2022, HVCC opened its Norwich, CT office. Currently provided targeted case management and clinical services under state contract, HVCC intends to bring the same level of services and dedication to the New London county area.

    Starting in July 2022, HVCC will be offering Parenting Education courses in New Haven, CT.
